Grease Recovery made Simple
No Mystery. No Mess.
Josam is leading the way in the evolution of the Grease Recovery Device. Closely adhering to PDI guidelines, they are once again helping to set the standard and eliminating the age old mystery behind when to empty the grease interceptor. Simply insert the Josam probe or set the timer and it will tell you when to clean it out or do it for you. It’s that simple.
Too much FOG (fats, oils and grease) is being passed downstream by kitchens, despite the fact that many of these establishments have installed appropriately sized and approved grease interceptors.
The difficulty lies in deducing when the FOG in the closed box (interceptor) has reached the point of its rated capacity. The solution is to ensure that the FOG in the grease interceptor is removed prior to reaching that point.
Josam is pleased to introduce to the marketplace a complete line of grease recovery products that help the owner of the grease interceptor deal with this problem and avoid the possibility of being fined.
Grease Sensing and Alarm Device: 60100H-SAP
Patent Pending
This wireless device is positioned inside the interceptor and it senses the amount of FOG in the interceptor. Prior to the FOG reaching its rated capacity, the sensor sends a signal to the wall unit and the wall unit‘s red light flashes and the alarm sounds. This alarm alerts the kitchen staff that the interceptor needs to be maintained.
The grease sensing and alarm device can be fitted in almost any interceptor prior to installation or retrofitted in an interceptor that is already installed in the kitchen. This inexpensive device will ensure that the kitchen staff is fully aware when the grease interceptor needs to be cleaned.
Electronic Grease/Oil Level Detector: EGOLD and CEGOLD
Josam offers the complete solution to effectively remove and monitor grease levels in all types of facilities. EGOLD-1000 and the CEGOLD-1000 both provide a continuous grease level measurement system. The EGOLD can be mounted to most manufacturers’ existing indoor; manual/passive grease interceptors. The CEGOLD offers a stainless steel frame for pre-cast concrete grease pit installation. Patented probe measures grease levels within the interceptor. Microprocessor notifies facility personnel when the grease interceptor requires cleaning/pumping. When interceptors are properly maintained, facility owners will experience fewer blockages in their drainage waste lines, saving costs of maintenance and repairs.
Automatic Grease Removal Device: 60100H-GRD
Patent Pending
In the past, grease interceptors with automatic grease removal devices have tended to be over complicated and over-priced. Josam has made a breakthrough in developing the automatic grease removal device to fit in the 60100H Series manual grease interceptors. (-GRD Option)
This unit consists of a 2” deep tray, the top of which sits 2” below the static water line in the grease interceptor. Positioned in the tray is a grease removal pump that is controlled by a wall unit, which possesses a 1 to 99 day timer device. The pump is attached to a translucent tank with a drain spigot.
To operate the unit the timer is set to turn on the pump in a selected number of days. The readout on the wall unit flashes between the set period and the number of days elapsed since the last date that the unit pumped. A separate pump button is available for immediate pumping. The pump cycle is set to pump the top 2” of FOG/water mix out of the interceptor into the translucent tank. In a short period of time the FOG rises to the top of the tank and the water is left at the bottom. By opening the spigot, the water is drained from the tank leaving only FOG. This can be drained into an appropriate container and disposed of in a proper manner.
This grease removal device is the least complicated and the least expensive unit currently available. It is Josam’s goal to take the mystery out of when to empty the grease interceptor or to simply empty it for you. At Josam, we are striving to make it even easier for you to eliminate grease and we are constantly researching emerging technologies to streamline the process. Let Josam help you save money in fines and protect the environment. We make grease recovery simple.
Automatic Grease Recovery Device: GI2000
The GI2000 electronically controlled automatic self cleaning grease recovery device effectively removes nearly 100% of fats, oils and grease routinely discharged from commercial kitchens, restaurants, and food processing plants. The GI2000 combines industry proven methods, superior design and the quality assurance that you have come to expect from the Josam Company.
The GI 2000 is a fully automatic grease recovery device. Its patented probe measures and monitors grease levels. The microprocessor records clean cycles, displays current status, sounds alarms and fully operates the GI 2000. The controller has permanent memory in event of a power loss.
Since these units are large and will take longer to reach the probe’s predetermined level, heating elements are an added feature used to liquefy congealed grease within the GRD. High velocity pump discharges grease into a remote reclaim tank which still needs to be disposed of properly.
Website Performance Monitoring
Optional monitoring feature can monitor the grease level with in an interceptor from a remote location via a standard telephone line. Email notification will alert facility users when their grease interceptor requires cleaning. Facility managers, grease haulers, maintenance personnel and code inspectors can now monitor manual grease interceptors directly from the internet. Read the results from your home or office. The service offers easy to read charts of cleaning cycles, ability to check current grease level at any time of day or night, and adjustable alarm levels for increased performance. Available on EGOLD, CEGOLD, and GI2000.
