Tyler Pipe moves to get all products certified by ICC-ES
ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) has announced that Tyler Pipe Company, one of the members of the Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute (CISPI), has had their Cast Iron Soil Pipe and Fittings certified to the requirements of CISPI 301-2009.
Tyler Pipe has been manufacturing quality soil pipe and fittings for decades. “We are proud to see Tyler Pipe join the long list of reputable companies that have chosen ICC-ES for their certification needs,” says Dawn La Fleur-Qualley, ICC-ES PMG certification program manager. “We are working on additional certifications for Tyler Pipe and hope to exceed their expectations from a certification agency.”
The ICC-ES PMG (plumbing, mechanical, and fuel gas) program offers a straightforward and trouble-free product certification process for any and all products referenced in the International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Residential Code (IRC) and other codes related to plumbing. “We have noticed the growth of the PMG program as well as the credibility it offers,” said Bill Bliss, Vice President of Tyler Pipe. “Inspectors are looking for the PMG mark of conformity, so we decided to certify with ICC-ES PMG.”
The ICC-ES PMG Listing Program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a product certification entity under ISO/IEC Guide 65: 1996, General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems. The PMG program offers a full range of certification. The ICC-ES PMG program can certify to AB 1953, Annex G of NSF/ANSI 61 and WaterSense; and can assist code enforcement professionals in determining whether a plumbing, mechanical or fuel gas product complies with applicable standards and codes.

Sloan FLUSHMATE® celebrates 25 years as leader in water savings technology
Franklin Park, Ill. — For 25 years, Sloan FLUSHMATE® a manufacturer of pressure-assist technology, has been a leader in water conservation in virtually every market from hotels to schools, commercial buildings and in the home.
Sloan FLUSHMATE has proven its ability to consistently develop products that continue to increase water savings and conserve more water than any other water closet flushing mechanism. This is demonstrated with the successful development of the FLUSHMATE®: from the 1.6 gpf to the 1.28 gpf and now the current FLUSHMATE® IV 1-gallon pressure-assist operating system.
FLUSHMATE has saved more than 285 million gallons of water over 25 years, which would compare to providing 285,000 people water for one day. Statistics are based on the average household use of 100 gallons of water per day per person with flushing toilets being the number one water usage activity.
Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute and NSF International announce certification program for no-hub couplings
Atlanta — The Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute (CISPI) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with NSF International, an organization committed to protecting public health and the environment, to launch a new certification program that will hold no-hub cast iron couplings to rigorous standards just as with NSF Certified cast iron soil pipe and fittings.
CISPI assisted NSF International in developing this new certification program to give users confidence that the cast iron pipe, fittings and couplings used in drain, waste and vent (DWV) systems are made to the appropriate industry standards. The new program includes independent, periodic review of deflection, shear, and unrestrained hydrostatic tests as well as dimensional inspections and review of material test reports for steel and gaskets that comprise the couplings. Manufacturers will receive NSF certification for couplings that meet the CISPI 310 standard based on in-plant inspections conducted by trained NSF personnel. Once certified, by NSF International, manufacturers can apply an NSF certification mark to these couplings to indicate compliance with NSF requirements and appear on NSF’s website.
