Showerhead New showerheads from American Standard feature a small turbine-like mechanism that spins the water stream through the head to create a powerful spray, while using 40% less water than current code requirements for showerheads. The three showerhead models include a basic unit that delivers 1.5 gpm; a more decorative 1.5 gpm showerhead; and a three-function unit that allows the user to select one of three spray modes: a center-only spray at 1.5 gpm; a center spray at 1.5 gpm and a perimeter spray of 1 gpm, for a total flow rate at the industry standard of 2.5 gpm; and a perimeter-only "rain shower" spray at 2.5 gpm. When the three-function shower is turned off, it automatically returns to the water conservation mode of 1.5 gpm-ideal for residential and commercial applications. |

Sensor-Operated Faucet Sloan Valve Co. has introduced its sensor-operated, water-saving Optima(r) Lino(tm) faucet. Chrome-plated die-cast metal faucet features single-hole European styling and fit various installation applications. Models with the Integral Spout Temperature Mixer are intended for hospital rooms and executive restrooms and include a lever for adjusting water temperature. On select models, user can press a button on the spout to tap into user-directed modes such as continuous run and temporary off. This adjustment can also be converted to a fixed setting. Single-supply faucet models, which are appropriate for public restrooms, deliver water at a preset temperature.

Electronic Faucets HyTronic line of sensor-operated faucets, from Chicago Faucets, features a twin-beam system that provides a quick response time, while minimizing false activations. Dual-beam can be adjusted to a single beam for enhanced performance in environments where there is a high level of interference. HyTronic software also automatically adjusts between a static (infrared) and a dynamic (hand motion only) mode. Remote technology allows for the ability to change or adjust modes, monitor battery levels and troubleshoot from a palm-enabled device, which reduces the risk of component damage from manual adjustments. Other features include a hygiene flushing mode that automatically activates the faucet after a specified period of low activity, as well as a smart power mode that reduces detection frequency and extends battery life.
